Aims & Objectives

This school academic year 2018/19 we will receive £21,390 (£16000 plus £10 for every child) to:

  • Develop the PE and sport activities that Birkby Junior School already offers.
  • Make improvements now that will benefit pupils joining Birkby Junior School in future years

We use the funding by:

  • Hiring a full time, in-school sports coach to support the teaching of PE in school and focus on children living an active and healthy lifestyle, supported by the involvement of parents.
  • Hiring a coach to develop the skills in focus groups of children, for example children with SEN, gifted and talented and inactive pupils.
  • Hiring coaches to deliver clubs where the children are training towards inter-school competitions in sports.

The long term aim is higher quality lessons and improved learning for all children.
